This webinar was the first in a series highlighting state-level efforts in gun violence prevention. Presented on April 1, 2025, our webinar focused on the state of Pennsylvania. Speakers included State Senator Tim Kearney, State Representative Lisa Borowski, Adam Gardner of CeaseFirePA, and Lashira Council from the Chester Community Coalition. Together, they reflected on ways people can be involved in gun violence prevention and community support, and where they find hope for the future. This event was co-sponsored by Nuns Against Gun Violence, Franciscan Action Network (FAN), and the Franciscan Peace Center (Sisters of St. Francis, Clinton IA).

Angela Howard-McParland has served on the Justice Team for the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas since 2021, where she focuses on organizing the Mercy community in New England and on advocacy for gun violence prevention.
Dr. Jennifer Kryszak is the Director of Strategic Planning for the Franciscan Peace Center, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis, Clinton Iowa, and promotes the Sisters' mission of active nonviolence and peacemaking.
Howard-McParland and Kryszak are founding members of Nuns Against Gun Violence and serve on the coalition's Steering Committee.
